Kossacks, help sell Obama's positive image -

Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 11:09:50 AM PDT

here's a guerilla marketing idea that each of us can participate in. Buy several copies of the current Ladies Home Journal and leave them on your hairdresser's, laudromat's, doctor's office's, mechanic's, etc. magazine tables. These magazines will be recyled over and over again by dozens of people to read while they wait. You might want to buy a few more mags to make sure there is a copy on each table for the next couple of months.

Unlike us, many voter's don't know who Barack is or what kind of family life he has, this will fill in some of that blank slate.

Try to get some of your family and friends who are hesitent to go door-to-door canvassing for Barack to do the same thing. This is a painless way for everyone to participate in spreading positive info about Obama.

"The War Prayer"

Mon May 26, 2008 at 10:55:42 AM PDT

This video illustration of Mark Twain's "The War Prayer" is powerful. I first read this prayer in the late 1960's. It was often cited then by anti-war activists. Please take a few moments to visit this site and view it.

The Prayer begins:

It was a time of great and exalting excitement. The country was up in arms, the war was on, in every breast burned the holy fire of patriotism;

You may want to share it with your friends.

Hillary dropping out after Oregon?

Sat May 17, 2008 at 03:54:55 PM PDT

In a CNN account of a speech she made last night in Oregon. She made this statement regarding the delegate and popular vote count:

"Those are two very good indicators of how close this race is and how intense it is and why everybody should vote and why I was so determined that we weren't going to quit before we got to Oregon," Clinton argued.

Puerto Rico's popular vote

Mon May 12, 2008 at 06:58:43 AM PDT

We all know that the Clinton campaign has been focusing attention on the popular vote count for the past few weeks and I have always assumed that their ploy included the FL and MI votes being counted and that would somehow put her over the top. Of course, they are trying to make the popular vote important in their pitch to the superdelegates.

Clinton smearing Obama is 'the fun part'

Sun Mar 02, 2008 at 10:50:58 PM PDT

Tomorrow's LA Times has a revealing article describing the Clinton campaign's dysfunctional nature:

http://www.latimes.com/...

Just a few months ago the Clinton campaign was alarmed that Obama seemed to be gaining traction in Iowa and hosted an event for her staff in her home in D.C. At that event they discussed what needed to be done.

Bill's words pay the Clinton's mortgage

Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 07:23:27 AM PDT

How can Hillary claim that words don't pay the mortgage, don't put food on the table while President Clinton has made millions of dollars giving speeches since 2001? I don't object to this per se but I do find it offensive for her to assert that "words don't matter" while her husband is hired to give motivational speeches around the world.

I also find it ironic that the proceeds from these speeches probably provided the $5 million dollar life support her campaign badly needed in early February. Let's see:

Hillary's 2008 primary campaign: $145 million dollars
One President Clinton motivational speech: $150,000
Three simple words, "Yes We Can": priceless

david vitter uses church as prop for Guiliani

Mon Jul 16, 2007 at 04:01:35 PM PDT

David Vitter's wife denounced the press for camping out in front of their church this past Sunday in hopes of getting a statement from Vitter on the issue of his political future. It seems the Vitter's feel they were victimized by the press when Vitter chose not to make any public appearances for the previous 5 days while the media and the public were left to speculate as to his intentions regarding his status as a U.S. Senator.

Mrs. Victim was indignant. How dare the press show up at her church? I wonder if she chided her husband for inviting the press to a church when he made his announcement endorsing Guiliani? Link with photo below:

Compromise with the WH and win in the process

Tue Mar 20, 2007 at 05:28:06 PM PDT

My compromise between the White House and Senate Judiciary Committee on the supoenas: propose that the Senate Judiciary Committee be allowed to appoint a special prosecutor to pursue the investigations launched by Lam and Yang and the committee will allow the WH staff to have an informal conversation with doughnuts. I really believe that the American people will perceive the Dems as being truly after the search for truth and justice and not political points.

GOP GOTV - over hyped?

Thu Oct 19, 2006 at 12:10:01 PM PDT

Yes, the Dems need to GOTV aggressively this year but I believe the MSM ignores some obvious points about this year's GOP GOTV.

Every pundit in political land is predicting that the outcome of this 2006 election is up for grabs and the "well-tuned" GOP GOTV organization will certainly make an impact on the final outcome. They cite the 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections as the culmination of years of laying the groundwork and enlisting troops to their cause.

Really? Where was that groundwork evident in 2000 where W lost the general and just won Florida because a bunch of seniors couldn't figure out the butterfly ballot in Palm Beach? In that election Bush didn't have his manufactured post 9/11 image to hang his Texas turban on, he wasn't widely viewed as the "Pastor-in-chief" yet by the Christian conservatives, and he didn't have the bully pulpit to hammer away with his GWOT message and scare the wits out of the general population.

McCain backs out of CA-50 fundraiser for Bilbray

Tue May 30, 2006 at 06:39:04 PM PDT

At the 11th hour John McCain has backed out of attending a breakfast for Brian Bilbray tomorrow morning. His office says its about Bilbray's stance on immigration but I don't believe that for a moment.

http://www.nbcsandiego.com/...

McCain has known Bilbray's stance on immigration for weeks. IMHO, he just doesn't want to be seen as supporting a sure loser a week before the election. These campaigns have internal polling going on. They know now what their candidate's chances are.

I've been a Francine Busby supporter since 2004. She is a strong, credible candidate. Anyone who has seen her in public agrees that she's a dynamo.

Please send her campaign a little cash. busbyforcongress.org

let's call them "mini-domes"

Wa-Po has an article that describes the problems encountered by officials in the small town of Jasper, TX when motorists ran out of gas and wound up on their doorstep Friday afternoon. I suspect there are alot more stories like this stretching from houston to dallas, austin, and other points inland. After weeks of derision from politicians and political pundits for the "debacle" created by Blanco for lack of planning it will be interesting to see how this is spun.

Duke Cunningham got a great deal on his new house

Thu Jun 16, 2005 at 12:20:24 PM PDT

Data on Duke's house:
7094 Via Del Charro - 7,628 SqFt - $2,550,000 -
sold on 12/03/03
Data on two other houses on same street:
7002 Via Del Charro - 5,290 SqFt - $3,450,000 -
sold on 10/01/03
6849 Via Del Charro - 2,936 SqFt - $2,250,000 -
sold on 12/22/03

Of course in Rancho Santa Fe lot size is important but I suspect his lot is pretty big for that size house.

Don't know who sold it to him for that price - will be interesting to find out.
